CV
As a cultural anthropologist and filmmaker my main interests are media, art, religion (myth, ritual), and intangible cultural heritage.
In 2007 I received my PhD from Bayreuth University with a thesis on the land-diving spectacle of the Sa in Vanuatu. As guest lecturer I've taught Cultural Anthropology and Media Anthropology at universities in Münster, Göttingen, Friedrichshafen, Vienna, Berlin, Suva (Fiji) and at the City Varsity Johannesburg (South Africa). Altogether I have carried out research in Oceania and Sub-Saharan Africa for more than five years.
As a filmmaker and –producer I have produced and authored more than a dozen nonfictional films; some of which for major German and European TV-stations.
